Men Do Dance

A New Way to Move, Express, and Grow

Men Do Dance is a pioneering dance programme - funded by The Baring Foundation – designed specifically for vulnerable adult men who are new to dance. It offers a safe and supportive space to move, express emotions, and improve mental well-being.

Following a successful pilot in 2024, delivered in partnership with Reflections Housing (a rehabilitation programme for men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction), Men Do Dance now runs two intensive one-week projects each year in addition to regular weekly sessions. The programme reaches men from across West Yorkshire.

What to Expect

Each intensive lasts a full week and introduces movement and choreography in an inclusive and encouraging environment. The focus is on strength, creativity, and teamwork—no prior dance experience is needed. The week ends with an informal performance, which gives participants a sense of pride and achievement.

Weekly sessions provide a chance to continue dancing, build confidence, and stay connected with others in a positive and structured setting.
