In 2016, DUY piloted its first intergenerational community project, Doodles and Daydreams in Bradford. The initiative, artistically mentored by Gary Clarke, brought together 60 dancers (ranging from 4yrs old to 64 yrs old, both new and experienced dancers) in a unique piece of exciting and moving choreography which was performed for the first time at the Riley Theatre to an audience of over 200 people. Given the success of this initiative, DUY will continue to deliver a Bradford-based intergenerational project annually.
“This project has done wonders for my daughter. She… has started to manage her feelings and emotions better as well as improve her social skills. This is great for children and young people.”
